Wine Picnic Proposal Basket

by Anonymous

The ideal wine picnic basket would have a lot of delicious and unique items. This basket would be great for a man to make up that is going to propose to his girlfriend.

The first items would be two bottles of their favorite wine. Another idea would be to put one of their favorite wines and a new wine to try.

Beautiful cloth napkins and tablecloth. I have always liked red and white plaid tablecloths.

I would then fill it with two cheeses, homemade pimento cheese with crackers and (I am traditional) some liver pate. Fruit such as grapes and whatever is in season. I would then add dinner which I would make myself or buy at my local deli.

I have a store where I live called Wegmans and it has everything you can imagine, even precooked whole lobsters. Lobsters are delicious but a little messy for a picnic. Lobster salad would be delicious if you really wanted to be lavish. Maybe like Martha Stewart make a thermos of crab soup in a thermal jug to go in the basket.

I made a basket for someone for during the day for lunch and put in delicious tea sandwiches. One of the tea sandwiches I made was cucumber and smoked salmon. A good homemade pasta salad would be a nice dish to go with the sandwiches.

Dessert would be some homemade cookies and a cupcake with the engagement ring on top. The sky is the limit for what you put in just use your imagination and enjoy!
