Southern California Winetasting Festival
Another wine festival in the Santa Clarita Valley? Bring it on!
For 5 days, October 4-8, 2006, guests can indulge in wine pairing dinners, a golf classic, a gala event and, of course, lots and lots of gourmet food and wine tasting.
Around 100 wineries and vineyards will participate at the main section of the Loose Goose Wine Festival, which will be held in Bridgeport Park, Valencia on Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon.
The Lodi Grape Festival & Harvest Fair
There's lots of fun planned this weekend in the heart of Lodi wine country in the San Joaquin Valley at the Lodi Grape Festival and Harvest Fair. The fair runs from Thursday, September 14 to Sunday, September 17.
A rose show will be new this year, adding to the carnival, craft competions, and entertainment stages. Some of the shows featured will include magic, juggling, bellydancing, karate, a hypnotist and of course, lots of music.
Danish Days In Solvang
If you're headed for the Santa Ynez Valley the weekend of September 15-17 for a little wine tasting, you may want to stop by Solvang for the Danish Days festival. Celebrating Solvang's Danish heritage, this fest will have lots of good old fashioned fun like parades, music, costumes and folk dancing.
Friday night will be a torchlight parade at 7:30. For those who love aebleskivers, there will be a traditional breakfast featuring these delicious pastries on both Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Wine Lovers Celebrate The Harvest In Sonoma
That time has come again, time for the Valley Of The Moon Vintage Festival up in Sonoma's wine country. This festival started over 100 years ago and continues annually, just like the harvest.
On Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 23-24, festival goers can enjoy wine, food, arts and crafts and various contests with prizes. A parade, a reenactment of the historic Bear Flag Revolt, a grape stomp and a Friday night Gala at the Mission will all be part of the fun.
Wine Tour With Elderhostel
Elderhostel.org offers a wine country tour out of in Healdsburg, California. It's called A Loaf Of Bread, A Jug Of Wine: A Taste Of Provence, and it includes cooking demonstrations, wine tastings, and classes on mushrooms, garlic, wine and cheese.
There will be field trips to a local bakery, cheese store, olive press and a winery.
Accommodations will be at Bishop's Ranch in Healdsburg, which is in the heart of northern Sonoma wine country.
Wine Festival in Santa Clarita Valley
Up in the northern reaches of L.A. County, an International Wine and Food Festival will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2006. All Corked Up, Santa Clarita's unique wine store/tasting room/wine storage facilities, is sponsoring the event at the Saugus Speedway.
For the price of a ticket, guests will receive a passport, buffet plate and wine glass. Live blues music will accompany your "around the world wine tasting experience”, while you enjoy wine and food pairings from around the globe.

Sonoma County's Gravenstein Apple Festival
If you're going to be up in Northern Sonoma County visiting the beautiful wine country up there around the Russian River Valley, why not stop by Sebastopol for the Gravenstein Apple Fair? On Saturday and Sunday August 12 and 13, 2006, Ragle Ranch Park will be the site of the festivities.
Local farmers will be there to sell all kinds of home grown products, and not just apples. There will also be musical entertainment, arts & crafts, food, beer & wine and games. Farm life activities and exhibits will be fun for the kids, including a miniature train tour. There will be old fashioned games and even a Children's Corner.
