The Temecula Valley Balloon And Wine FestivalNext year's Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival will be held June 5-9, 2009. The festival is held in Winchester at Lake Skinner. This is about 17 miles north of Temecula in Riverside County. In addition to wine tasting and hot air balloons, there will be musical entertainment, food, exhibits, arts and crafts and a kid's faire. If you want to ride in a hot air balloon at sunrise with about 50 other balloons, you can book it in advance with A Grape Escape Hot Air Balloon Adventure. A child must be at least 48 inches tall to ride. Champagne and/or orange juice is included. For reservations, call 1-800-965-2122. In the evening, tied down balloons will glow and dance to the beat of the music, providing a spectacular vision. The festival has wine tasting also. Fifteen dollars will get you seven tastes and includes a glass to keep as a souvenir. Several Temecula Valley wineries will be participating. Admission to the festival costs $15 on Friday. Kids 12 and under are free. On Saturday, admission is $22, with kids 7-12 costing $5. On Sunday, adults are $15, with kids 7-12 costing $5. This includes entertainment, but food and wine tasting costs extra.
