Russian River Wineries
The Russian River wineries are located in northern Sonoma County. , near Santa Rosa. In addition to wine tasting, the Russian River offers calm water rafting, fishing, kayaking and swimming (in warm weather). The area is the home of Armstrong Redwoods, where you can stroll amongst thousand year old redwood groves. You can plan your Russian River Valley wine tasting excursion with the following information on the local Russian River wineries and available tours, tasting room hours, picnic areas and more. The river flows south along the east side of Highway 101, then crosses to the west side in Healdsburg and meanders out to the coast.
A Ticket to the Wine Road is a 1 or 3 day pass to most of the local wineries. The Russian River Valley wine region is generally the area between Healdsburg and Guerneville. From
Healdsburg,
you go south on Westside road, which then goes west until it merges onto River Road. Korbel Champagne Cellars is out here and well worth a visit. When you pass the town of Guerneville, go left on the 116 (Gravenstein Highway) to take the scenic road southeast back towards Forestville. Much of the apple orchards have been replaced with vineyards. You'll see a lot of redwoods out here as well. As there are several wineries off of side roads in this area, you may want to bring a map along. Click here for a Russian River Valley Wine Tour.
