Many wineries in the Santa Ynez Valley have tasting rooms in Los Olivos California, all within walking distance of each other on Grand Avenue. The downtown section (Grand Ave.) is only 2 block long. You can find some great food here just by seeing where others are crowding the outdoor tables. R Country Market on Grand Avenue has a terrific deli and outside seating. Los Olivos is a favorite stop for many on an exploration of the local wine country. You can make it a day trip from
Santa Barbara
or
Solvang California.
Beginning August 14, 2010 and carrying on through February 2011, there is going to be an art exhibit going on simultaneously at ten of the Los Olivos wineries plus a restaurant and a hotel. The artist is Mark Robert Halper and the exhibit is called "Sunlight And Water" and features 110 winemaker portraits.
