Healdsburg Veterans Memorial Beach Russian RiverThe Russian River snakes along through town, and if you're there in summer, Veteran's Memorial Beach Park at the south end of town is a good place for a refreshing dip. Less than a half-hour away up at the northern end of the Dry Creek Valley is Lake Sonoma with boating opportunities. At the Visitor's Center is a fish hatchery with indoor exhibits and outdoor walkways to a fish ladder where you can watch salmon jump upstream (in season).
