The Foxen Canyon
Wine Trail

Windmill on the Foxen Canyon Wine Trail

Between Santa Maria and Los Olivos is the bucolic Foxen Canyon Wine Trail, where you can go wine tasting without the crowds. The following listing of central California wine tasting rooms are divided into three sections: the Santa Maria wineries, Los Alamos wineries and Los Olivos wineries.

Los Olivos has more wineries right in town, but you'll find details about these on the Los Olivos page.

On the lower end of the Foxen Canyon Trail, there are a couple of short trails to add to your experience of this beautiful countryside. Zaca Mesa Winery has a short trail from the parking lot that goes to a small ridge that overlooks the view with a windmill.

Brooks Trail between Firestone Vineyard Winery and Curtis Winery

At Curtis Winery, you can taste some of their wines, then take a nice stroll on Brooks Trail, which takes you to Firestone Vineyard Winery. After enjoying yourself there, walk on back. It's a lovely way to experience wine country, and a rare treat.
