The dramatically scenic Colombia River gorge is certainly a unique area to go wine tasting. The road winds its way along the ledges of the deep gorge. This viticultural area extends along both sides of the Colombia River. The Interstate 84 (which is also called the Historic ColombiaGorge Scenic Highway) takes you along the Oregon side of the gorge. On the Washington (north) side, Highway 14 goes along the gorge. Several bridges cross over in case you want to explore some of the Washington wineries as well.

The wineries of this region center mainly around the towns of Hood River and The Dalles.
