About Us

I first discovered the magic of wine country back in the 80's when my coworkers and I would take wine tasting trips up to Napa. It was such a feast for the senses: the distinctive aromas of wine cellars and vineyards, the gorgeous views, the culinary pleasures in the restaurants, and of course the wine itself.

I began to grow more interested in the nuances and subtleties of wine while working in a San Francisco restaurant with a wine bar. We would have frequent educational tasting seminars hosted by wine distributors so we could better sell the wines. (great perk)

Later, after starting a family, my husband and I moved to Sonoma County. When my daughter was a toddler, I frequently took her to explore Sonoma wine country. I didn't even taste the wines then, it was enough to picnic in the vineyards, stroll beautiful gardens, take the cellar tours, and sample mustards, pretzels, olive oils and chocolate sauces found in some of the winery tasting rooms or gift shops. We both loved the adventure of discovery.

Then I was doing research for a screenplay I was writing which was set in wine country. That gave me an excuse to spend even more time there, soaking up the atmosphere.

Now I live in Southern California, and have started this Experience Wine Country website with the help of SITESELL which has a great program called SITE BUILD IT for building websites and growing traffic, even if you are terribly untechnically minded like myself.
